Panel 1: Text says “Another two weeks later.” The Old Woman, with her non-spooky face, says “This is getting silly.”
Panel 2: She looks up at Hansel in his cage. She is frustrated and says “It’s been a month and you feel no plumper!” Hansel looks scared and ashamed. Around him, in the cage, are bones and a skull. Peaking around the Old Woman’s skirts, Hansel says “Maybe check again?”
Panel 3: The Old Woman says “Yes! Give me your finger!” Hansel picks up a small bone from the bottom of the cage, grinning as he says “Ok!”
Panel 4: Close on the bone, with the Old Woman’s fingers on one of it and Hansel on the other end.
Panel 5: The Old Woman transforms into her spooky form, hollow eyes wide, tongue flaring, sharp teeth showing. She yells “How?! How are you still so thin? No matter! Preheat the oven!” Gretel chimes in with “Um. The oven…” Hansel, in the cage, covers his mouth with his hand to stop from laughing.cl
Panel 6: The Old Woman points at Hansel, now out of the cage. Her face is back to its disguised Old Woman look. She says “Are you going to tell me I can’t have roasted boy?”
Panel 7: Gretel shrugs and says “The oven still won’t start.”
Panel 8: Close on the Old Woman. She says “You’re kidding me.”
Panel 9: The Old Woman leans against the doors of the oven. She says “I told you it was finicky.” With her back towards us, we see Hansel and Gretel looking mischievous. Gretel has her hand up, telling Hansel to wait. Gretel sarcasitcally says “I’m so sorry. Can you fix it?”
Panel 10: The Old Woman says “Of course I can. Can’t call for a repair at this hour anyway.” She is crawling into the oven through its now open doors. There is a skull in the bottom right of the panel, resting on the floor.
Panel 11: The Old Woman crawls further in. Just her feet and butt are sticking out of the door now. She says “Why would you put a pilot light in the back of an oven?” The skull in the corner says “Tricked.”
Panel 12: The kids shove the Old Woman into the oven! Gretel says “In you go!” The Old Woman says “Hey!”
Panel 13: Close up of Gretel’s hand slamming the button on the front of the oven.
Panel 14: From the oven comes “AIEEEEEE!” Flames shoot out of the doors of the Oven. Hansel and Gretel flinch and use their arms to protect themselves from the flames. Gretel says “Smells like gingerbread.”
