Panel 1: A reporter is standing in the rain, looking at the reader. In the background, the body of large snake like creature is winding in and out of shops. The reporter is saying “A creature, long believed to be a local myth, reportedly emerged from the staff toilets of this branch of Cash Converters at around 10am this morning. Assistant manager Richard Horne, who was using the lavatory at the time, has been taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.” There is a banner at the bottom of the panel that says “Tyne TV: Legendary ‘worm’ resurfaces?”.
Panel 2: Cut to Richard Horne, lying in a hospital bed. From the left, a microphone is being held in his face. Horne is an older man, with a thick white mustache and square nose. He says “Aye, I were just doin’ my business, like, when this gert big lizard thing popped up out of the bog and took a massive lump out of me arse.” There is a banner at the bottom of the panel that says “Tyne TV: Richard Horne, Worm Witness”.
Panel 3: A close up on Horne’s face. He looks a bit sadder now. He says “It proper stings, like.”
Panel 4: Cut to a news broadcast. A news anchor and a subject matter expect are sitting at a desk, with a screen between them. The screen is showing the scene from Panel 1. On the left, the anchor says “Shocking scenes with our reporter, Bob Smelt. Joining me in the studio is Dr. Rosemary Flann, a specialist in English folklore. Rosemary, what is this worm and what does it want?” Flann is dressed in a suit jacket and black tee. She has short dark hair that’s just a bit messy. She has thin glasses on.
Panel 5: Closer on Flann, with one hand up and a finger in the air, as though to say ‘now hold on here.’ She says “First of all, Brian, this isn’t a worm of the sort you’d find in your garden. This is aw yrm, or what we would today call…”. There is a banner at the bottom of the panel that says “Tyne TV: Dr. Rosemary Flann, Worm Expert”.
Panel 6: Close in on Flann’s face. She looks deadly serious as she says “A Dragon.”
