The Save the Pygmy Dragon Panda project is an alternate reality educational game put on at the National Zoo in Washington, DC.
I designed the Pygmy Dragon Panda, the logo, and provided a model sheet for other artists to work from when creating Pygmy Dragon panda artwork.
This is easily one of the most exciting (and fun) projects I have ever worked on. I worked closely with the National Zoo staff to make the Pygmy Dragon Panda as realistic as possible. They provided the environment, what and how the Panda eats, how it lives, and the basic concept (claws, sharp teeth, scales, etc).
I researched armadillos, sloths, various lizards, and other creatures (The Zoo must have answered at least half a dozen requests for information) to combine them in to a plausible, yet still fictional, creature.
