I've had HUGE Artist's Block on a project for about six months. I'm talking the Berlin Wall of Artist's Block. If anyone says it isn't real, they're liars (and that's a blog post for another time). The client has been amazingly understanding (he's an old friend), and this week I busted right through the mental block I had with a giant sledgehammer of awesome.
In an effort to keep the illustration juices flowing, anytime I get an idea I doodle it down (this is important).
Another group of friends put together the idea for a Book of Awesome. The deadline is tonight at midnight. A doodle I did when I walked in the door from a weekend at home hit my brain way too hard. It's PERFECT for this project.
Pencils done. Inking now. An hour and a half till deadline.
Update 11:12pm
Inks done. Just letting them dry a bit before erasing pencil work and scanning them in.
Update 1:17am
And done. A bit late (an hour) but it worked out fine. The spirit of the project stands strong.
